What's the purpose of the hole in the wall? I think it was perhaps a window. Digitalization has reduced the need for currency, and transactions are now conducted via mobile phones, reducing the necessity for banks.
So what's going on with so many small banks closing and ATM's too? Customer service is down to almost zilch as well. Artificial Intelligence has taken over I guess.
Oophs, seems like a repair is needed. We had the pleasure of visiting Ireland a few years before Covid, loved it. Spotted you on a mutual friends blog and thought I'd pop in for a visit. It's always fun to meet new bloggers. I have fallen off my walking and need to pick things up again...keep waiting for better weather; but perhaps I'll force myself to get out there today and get some steps in.
Oh, I've never seen anything like this, dear Bill. But it is to be feared that this will become more and more common... All the best from Austria on Thursday evening, Traude https://rostrose.blogspot.com/2022/03/italien-reisebericht-perugia-und-assisi.html
Bill - now, this IS a new meaning for "hole in the wall". So sad to see branches close. These days, it gets harder and harder to find a "real person" to talk to!
Ana
I've hardly used cash since Covid began, paying for everything with a card these days.
ReplyDeleteIt's changing world out there.
ReplyDeleteHi Bill.
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame that so much is gone.
Greetings from Patricia.
Amazing how big those machines are. I thought it was a man sitting at a desk on the other side of the wall handing you the money.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.

ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteSome people may miss the ATM. I would miss my bank if it closed.
Take care, have a happy day!
Oh dear. Guess it will be patched up.
ReplyDeleteWe are increasingly being forced in the direction of digital finance. Very annoying because who will be at the controls of supervision in a moment.
ReplyDeleteAll those digital developments I hate it!
ReplyDeleteOh Wow..now that's a hole. People look at you funny these days when you do use cash.
ReplyDelete...locally, banks seen to be on every corner!
ReplyDeleteMany banks here are closed...people lost their jobs. Digitalization is real.
ReplyDeleteI vastly prefer using cash.
ReplyDeleteYou wonder how long it will be before there are no longer physical locations.
ReplyDeleteIt is a sad thing that there will be no face to face help or advice available for people. I use cash as much as possible.
ReplyDeleteKind of sad!
ReplyDeleteSo what's going on with so many small banks closing and ATM's too? Customer service is down to almost zilch as well. Artificial Intelligence has taken over I guess.
ReplyDeleteSad to see small branch banks closing so the services they provide are gone. Looks like we are moving to a cashless society.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't be hard to break into that bank.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pity! The new wall is very beautiful, it will have an ugly ornament... I'm sorry...
ReplyDeleteSweet spring days, dear Bill.
~~~
Now we all can go into that bank
ReplyDeleteOh my, no more ATM.
ReplyDeleteunfortunately....
ReplyDeleteTempos modernos!
ReplyDeleteHope it´s just for repair! Here some want "real" money!
ReplyDeleteSeems like quite a few banks have closed. Out bank in our little town is getting renovated!
ReplyDeleteThat's a really interesting shot. And kind of sad...
ReplyDeleteEstá reduciendo las sucursales y las plantillas de los empleados, ya sólo quieren que se acuda´a los cajeros.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful painting would fit there:)
ReplyDeleteSad when they close banks
ReplyDeleteThey have closed 2 banks here with us as well
so now we have no bank
oh... :-(
ReplyDeleteThat looks sad.
Oh, I've never seen anything like this, dear Bill. But it is to be feared that this will become more and more common...
More and more bank branches are closing and the hole in the wall machines are being used.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Que medo, Bill!
ReplyDeleteNoite abençoada!
Gratidão!
😊💙😊 Megy Maia
Now that's just inviting someone to climb in there and have a photo taken. Everything seems digital these days. I'm not particularly fond of that.
ReplyDeleteIsso não parece ser bom.
ReplyDeleteVocês vão ficar sem caixa eletrônico?
Um abraço!
Esas cosas pasan pero da mucha pena. Te mando unb eso.
ReplyDeleteBill - now, this IS a new meaning for "hole in the wall". So sad to see branches close. These days, it gets harder and harder to find a "real person" to talk to!
ReplyDeleteSad to see businesses close.
ReplyDeleteStep by step digitalization!
