came across lady liberty when were heading to Dungloe from Killybegs at the end of Jan. It was very strange, it just popped in to view when we came around a curve in the road. At night the bulb on the torch lights up. It overlooks Gweebarra Bay towards the sand dunes of Dooey Beach.
I would love to know the story behind this. :)

ReplyDeleteI´d like to learn the story, too! Someone sure made it to freedom there, I guess. Nice!
ReplyDeleteA happy day to you, Bill.
Very green.
ReplyDeleteNot quite as famous as her sister, but nice to meet her even so.
ReplyDeleteHi Bill.
ReplyDeleteNice bill.
Greeting from Patricia.
Lady in green … not anymore in red! LOL
ReplyDeleteIf you discover the story of this lady, do you also tell us?
Have a great Friday!

Great find and then totally green and not from copper oxidation. I like it and the freedom it represented.
ReplyDeleteStrange to see it here indeed!
ReplyDeleteThe Americans are coming!
ReplyDeleteHello, Lady Liberty looks good in green. Great skywatch shot. Enjoy your day, wishing you a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteIs she on holiday from the States?
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Does she welcome tired and huddled masses? If so perhaps some of those poor Syrian refugees could be accommodated.
ReplyDeleteNow there is a familiar sight, in a more compact size ;)
ReplyDeleteThe lady has a great view!
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat surprise!
ReplyDeleteThat is an unexpected sight for sure.
ReplyDeleteGreat view out to sea. I'll be interested to find out the story behind this one.
ReplyDeleteOK, I imagine everyone wants to know the story behind this beautiful green lady. Me too!

How unusual to see Lady Liberty in Ireland, but she looks great in your photos. Let the light of liberty shine.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to know the story behind this too. We have a small version of Lady Liberty here in Vegas too at The New York New York hotel.
ReplyDeleteI just viewed the post photos and then read all the previous comments, so it seems most folks want to read the story of this Lady Liberty, Bill, myself included. It does seem that the sculpture could use some repair as well.
ReplyDeleteShe is waiting for any poor souls out at sea at night. Offering them a light to aim for?
ReplyDeleteThere was a house near me that had an Eiffel Tower out on their upper balcony for years. It lit up at night too.

ReplyDeleteAn unexpected surprise, but a nice one.

ReplyDeleteMB
I know there are several of them around the world.
ReplyDeleteThere's a lady liberty in Paris, a duplicate of the one in New York (I can't remember if it's the same scale). That one was created as part of the building of the one for the U.S.
ReplyDeleteThat was an unexpected good present to you. Happy weekend to you.
ReplyDeleteLady Liberty is lost in a faraway land!
ReplyDeleteNice to see but what is the story?
ReplyDeleteThat's the mystery, I can't find anything about it as of today.
DeleteWhat a cool find!
ReplyDeleteHow interesting is that! I couldn't find anything online about it :(
