Even when it is safe to cross the road there are cars who just continue driving in the intersection to beat the light. There are three sets of lights so you better pay attention.
Photos taken in Letterkenny last week.
Hello Bill, most interesting intersection. I trust you're well. I've been off blogger these past three months and hope to be back more regularly now. Jo
That hotel is a really weird duck in the street. But in itself it is not ugly. Wonder if it's not more of a restaurant than a hotel with all that glass.
I once got rear-ended by a guy at an amber light, who said, "You could have made it," and the idiot repeated that to the cop, who was not swayed by that his logic.
My two cents worth. When you are crossing the road always keep checking your surroundings. I have seen too many people hit by cars and it is not a pleasant sight to see.
At first I thought the white shapes in the windows were beds in unrented rooms. Then I realized they were just tables in a restaurant! Yes, an intersection to be aware of!
Same here, you have to walk defensively. In Eugene, drivers are supposed to stop for pedestrians who are waiting at crosswalks even where there is no light ...but hardly anyone does.
Hi Bill.
ReplyDeleteStrange situation.
Nice street.
Greeting from Patricia.

ReplyDeleteLooks rather nice there.
ReplyDeletePeople driving often try to beat the lights, one has to always be attentive.
Also für mich fahren alle auf der falschen Seite :).
ReplyDeleteNoke
That does look like a risky intersection to drive through. Wonderful photos Bill.

ReplyDeleteSorry was distracted by the hotel but all the yellow paint on the street doesn't make it any better. Indeed a tricky situation.
ReplyDeleteThat doesn't look very safe to cross there...
ReplyDeleteNice looking hotel.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.

ReplyDeleteRun Forest, Run
ReplyDeleteWhen I was young (up until my teen years) I walked everywhere I went. This is one of the craziest intersections I've seen!
ReplyDeleteYou can never be too careful ...
ReplyDeletea nice city
ReplyDeleteand a nice hotel
...cars rule!!!
ReplyDeleteHello, I think this intersection would make me nervous. Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy new week!
ReplyDeleteGosh that does look like a bit of a twicky intersection Bill 😱

ReplyDeleteSounds like streets here. Cross at your own risk.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a very small busy intersection. Drivers have many things to look at. However, I'm sure some drivers don't bother to look at anything.
ReplyDeleteI do believe that this would confuse the heck out of me...
ReplyDeletegreat photos though :}
Some people think the rules are not for them ;)
ReplyDeleteBe careful, always!
ReplyDeleteIt's always best to make sure to be safe when crossing any intersection because of crazy drivers.
ReplyDeleteInteresting modern looking building but watch out if you want to get to it
ReplyDeleteMB
Too scary for me! People do that here too.
ReplyDeleteNice hotel♥
ReplyDeleteIt can be dangerous crossing a street. So many drivers are distracted now a days!!
ReplyDeleteBest be careful there!
ReplyDeleteThat's a confusing intersection to cross. On a side note, I would love to go to that hotel's restaurant, it offers a great view.
ReplyDeleteLike someone maybe got a little carried away with the line paint. :-)
ReplyDeleteNice street captures.
ReplyDeletePedestrians absolutely look both ways. Learned that in Ireland.
ReplyDeleteLife changed in our small town when a light was put at the only intersection. Rough.
street looks nice

ReplyDeleteYou've got to take care when out and about.
