Gusty winds most likely contributed to this dead tree being transformed in to a chair. It's safer for the public and offers a place to rest with a view.
This is certainly unique to my experience. I've seen numerous carvings from trees but this is new and great fun. And I don't think it will topple over backward very easily! :)
What a great idea!!! I love that someone was smart enough not to just cut the whole thing to the ground and cut it up for firewood. Have a great week. Diana
How clever. It reminds me of one of my posts from a couple of weeks ago. Hurricane Irma toppled a favorite huge old tree. The homeowner hired a chainsaw artist to turn the stump into a sculpture of five dolphins. Smart people, no?
Hi Bill.
ReplyDeleteThat is very nice.
And still functional from the tree.
Groettie from Patrricia.
What a great find!
ReplyDeleteVery smart, especially the armrests. I like it.
ReplyDeleteThat is ingenious!
ReplyDeleteLove it.

ReplyDeleteI especially love that first photo, Bill. The chair is great!
ReplyDeleteI've seen seats like this before - but never one with arm-rests. Luxury!
ReplyDeleteClever use of that old tree!
ReplyDeleteSo much nicer than a stump which is an eyesore! This is more like a tree throne! Very creative!
ReplyDeleteI like the chair and it's a good use. However, I also like the way the tree looked against the horizon.
ReplyDeleteGood reuse, Bill!
ReplyDeleteNow that's a cool chair and somebody had a good eye to create it.
ReplyDeleteLove this Bill, made me smile! What a lovely use for a tree that has died.. you'll have to try and catch someone sitting in it 😀
ReplyDeleteNice! Great way to use and old stump!
ReplyDeleteHello Bill !
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea!
This is the beauty of nature and so useful!
Gorgeous pictures!
Have a lovely new week!
Dimi.
That is a good idea.
ReplyDeleteHow creative, I like it.
ReplyDeleteIsn't this great! A good idea.
ReplyDeleteLovely photographs Bill.
All the best Jan
I just looked at this again and got to wondering if, before you took the picture, you addressed the chair - you know, to get permission to photograph?
ReplyDeleteWonderful initiative! Lovely shots too!
ReplyDeleteHey, that's pretty clever

ReplyDeleteHow nice that you caught before and after shots! It's sad to see a tree go but the transformation is so much better than a pile of firewood.
ReplyDeleteVery clever ! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a good use of the old tree trunk.
ReplyDeleteA new life for the dead tree. I like it.
ReplyDeleteA fascinating trio of photos. I especially the artist view of the first one.
ReplyDeleteVery nice!
