Xtra-Vision Xpress

I didn't know these machines were still around.  I don't watch movies so I wasn't aware people still rent DVDs.  I would think streaming is the way to go these days, it's a lot more convenient.  This machine was located in a shopping plaza and currently out of order.

  4. Yes that is something from long ago...

  5. Maybe it's out of order because it hasn't been used in years!

  7. Ours was taken out at our grocery store, but I do see DVDs in stock around the counter. And we still get some checkouts at the library too. Who knew how nostalgic this would be...=)

  9. Hello,
I have seen these machines in our local Walmart. I have never tried to rent one of the movies. Take care, enjoy your new week!

  10. I still occasionally borrow DVDs from the library. I even still have a working cassette player, but the library retired tapes long ago.

  11. I still prefer physical copies over the idea of streaming.

  15. We don't have these machines around any more. But I still watch DVDs as well as stream movies. I love movies, but haven't been in a theater in almost two years. They are still not safe places.

  18. I havent used this machine before but looks very colorful and interesting. This device and this kind of devices should be saved in the special museum.

  21. I know what a DVD is but maybe they are corrupt because it is no longer used :)

  22. I wonder how old it is? I remember the days of stocking up ones for weekend amusement.

  25. We have a closet of DVDs and are not sure what to do with them all. At least the VCR tapes are gone. I think I found 2 the other day.

  26. There are some of those machines in the area I live (I had to Google it to see if there were) but I think I've only used one once, and that was when they first came out. There are so many ways to watch movies and shows nowadays I don't know why someone would need the machines unless they can't afford anything else.

  29. Maybe the out of order sign is an omen for how popular these machines are. I also still see a few around, but have to agree with you that streaming is so much more convenient.

  32. Even though I've seen video venting rentals I've never used ones. Now it seems like I stream most everything.

  35. Yup, I'd think a little behind the times there, I somehow doubt it will ever get fixed. We watch movies on streaming occasionally -- even before covid we hadn't been to a movie theater in ages.

  36. no... I never seen this kind of machine for long time...

    great shot.

  37. Now that you mentioned it Bill, I haven't seen a DVD rental machine in a while. I recall there was one outside a nearby retail pharmacy, but don't recall if it's still there.

  38. Eu ainda tenho DVD's aqui em casa... mas realmente deixei de ver estas casas...
Um precioso achado, que nos remete para um passado... não tão distante ainda...
Gostei da imagem! Um grande abraço!
