Looks like it's been there a while. We had a tree around here like that and it lasted for years. It just completely died this past year. I'll have to dig out the picture and show you.
What a very interesting tree! Filipinos love making stories about EVERYTHING and if that will be seen by some storytelling Filipino, they would probably say it has been struck by thunder because there was a bit of gold in its trunk!
Love the new banner photo Bill! Stay safe my friend!
It's an interesting looking tree, I wonder how it survived. But Nature has it's way. . . Have a Nice and Safe day. . . :)
ReplyDeleteMakes for an interesting picture. I wish you a good day.

ReplyDeleteHi Bill
Funny, hopefully he won't get too heavy on one side, so he'll fall over.
Greeting from Patricia.
That's heavily ... i'm afraid will fall at the first storm!
ReplyDeleteIs it raining there? I hope that will not come to the Netherlands …
Enjoy your day, Bill!
Was it nature or human interference. Only heaven can tell.
ReplyDeleteWeeee. I go with Ella, don´t go near in a storm...
ReplyDeleteHope your weather is better than ours, have a nice day, Bill.
I doubt it can stand for very long in that condition.
ReplyDeleteIt looks odd, poor tree...
ReplyDeleteIs this real or a clever photography trick?
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
It's the real thing, Victor.
Delete...it's hanging on!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful
ReplyDeleteLooks like human interference to me - or really strong onshore winds!
ReplyDeleteStill strong and erect.
ReplyDeleteNot to worry. Trees can do something that people can't... grow new limbs.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteThe half looks like it is hanging in there. Take care and have a great day!
Interesting shot of a tree and wonderful lawn of green !
ReplyDeleteIt's hanging on. I always wonder if the tree might have been struck by lightening.
ReplyDeleteI always wonder how the trees became those unusual shapes.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the tree had a stroke many years ago.
ReplyDeleteHi Bill, looks like a old tree.
ReplyDeleteInteresting! Its amazing how trees cope with different conditions.
ReplyDeleteHopefully it will survive a storm.
ReplyDeleteLooks like it's been there a while.

Sad
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful New header!I love it!
ReplyDeleteAlso the tree..May be it is the hard windy weather made it that way, Nice though!
It's a survivor! Lovely view in the header, Bill! You live surrounded by beauty!
ReplyDeleteTorrey Pines golf course is on the ocean. Winds are always forcing trees to lean away from the ocean.
ReplyDeleteOh, to be walking down the hill along a stone wall!
It may be looking for sun direction

ReplyDeleteLove the new banner photo Bill! Stay safe my friend!
It almost looks like half of it has been pruned, like it's only half a person.
ReplyDeleteThis is an amazing tree! You have pictured it so well!
ReplyDeleteIt sure does, doing well still standing.
ReplyDeleteThe header photo is nice.
Wow! Looks impossible but nature can be like that!
ReplyDeleteNever seen anything quite like this! Amazing :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Wow and Why?!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like the remaining half may be struggling a bit.
ReplyDeleteHow unusual. There is an unknown story there . . .
ReplyDeleteWonder if the people next door didn't like it hanging over their fence Bill.
