that the tourist season has begun.
Saga Sapphire cruise ship, the first of the season arrived yesterday with 600 tourists and 400 staff. A couple of hundred more people and it would have doubled the population of Killybegs.
tour buses are beginning to show up regularly now too.

Good for the tourist, good for Ireland.
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed a complete village that arrives!
ReplyDeleteFunny a dutch bus. Early tourists already the dutch only don't get the palm tree on the side. Not really tropical in Killybegs but who knows.
ReplyDeleteI have found a fish & chips shop. Have you?
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
That's a sign you see for Melly's. They do have good fish and chips.
DeleteI couldn't read the sign from this angle. But sure could smell the aroma of fish frying.
DeleteYou're lucky to have such a shop at hand.
God bless.
Hello, I would think the tourist are good for Ireland's economy. I try to go off season to avoid crowds of people. Wishing you a happy day!
ReplyDelete...tourists must be a mixed blessing.
ReplyDeleteGood for the economy!

You get an early spring for sure, Bill.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos. I have mixed feelings about that many people arriving at once. I'm sure it's good for the local economy, but that's a lot of people!
ReplyDeleteThats a lot of staff for 600 passengers!
ReplyDelete.Hi Bill.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very large ship.
Greeting from Patricia.
The cruise ships are massive.
ReplyDeleteLets hope the tourists spend lots of their euros in Killybegs.
ReplyDeleteThat is one big ship. The tour buses are a common sight here, especially during warm weather. We'll see them starting with the tulip festival period.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot people for the city to accommodate all at once. Such a huge ship.
ReplyDeleteHow busy the tourist trade is...welcome to the season.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos Bill ⛵🚢
I've never been on a cruise. That's a lot of people on one boat.
ReplyDeleteThe tourist season----oh my. Ours ended with skiing and just started with the Tulip Festival. Summer is next!
ReplyDeleteMB
I haven't seen that particular cruise ship but I bet the passengers are good for business in your area.
ReplyDeleteThese ships are so big!
ReplyDeletePerhaps a mixed blessing, but tourists are good for the local economy.
All the best Jan
I've never been on a cruise but I have always wanted to visit Ireland. I hope their presence helps your local businesses and does not interfere with your enjoyment of your hometown. Have a good day.
ReplyDeleteIt must be a crazy time in town but is hopefully good for the local businesses!
ReplyDeletetourists industry good for economy...

Quite Colorful - Well Done

ReplyDeleteGood for your economy!
ReplyDeleteGee, they start early, don't they? I can only imagine what it feels like to have that many tourists converge at once from a cruise ship.
ReplyDeleteShould feel like a festival with arrival of tourist! Its summer holidays right here and people are thronging at all tourist places.
ReplyDeleteIt's all your fault Bill, you've shown how lovely Killybegs is and now everyone wants to visit 😉
