Its a pity that those kinds of street furniture are disappearing. But the progress of the future must be made.

I love postboxes of any kind and this is interesting one
This one looks veeeeeeeery old! :)
That is sad. Over here too, post boxes are getting fewer. E-mails and texts are taking over.God bless.
Not red post boxes? Aah well, the post boxes are disappearing in Mumbai too sadly.
This one has certainly run out of time.
Hello, it does look old. Are they replaced with new boxes? Have a happy day!
No replacements when the actual post offices are closing down and being consolidated. This one seems to be an old relic.
Sadly, I'm not sure what else they could be used for.
...'out of service,' I can understand why!
Oh dear, definitely seen better days Bill ✨
It looks like it has been out of service for quite awhile.
nice patina in this mailbox
This poor old mail box looks like it couldn't serve even if it wanted to.
There are fewer of ours around too!
I’ve never seen a mailbox like that. End of an era?
Why, don't people use the post any more
Not only is the box out of service, but it looks like even the “out of service” sign is an antique.
What an interesting box. I really like this picture. Sad they are being abandoned. I wish you both a great day.
Sad! We have two collection boxes in our town. Otherwise we leave mail in our boxes for pickup by carriers or take things to the post office.
Hello Bill.It does look old! Have a lovely day!Dimi...
It looks pretty worse for wear.MB
Yes .... this is really great to see. This will often happen to you. In the Netherlands this is not but I like to see these kind of old objects Bill :-)Greetings
Well, I guess so! Great find, Bill. :-)
Oh dear … are all your post boxes green? It's a sign of modern times with more emails, texts etc letter writing and use of the mail has gone down. All the best Jan
This post box does seem forlorn and sorry to read they are being discontinued.
