    Love that sunlight coming in under the heavy clouds an indeed a star of hope is not a bad idea.

    Excellent choice for the photo of the year. Menacing dark clouds above but the sun still manages to shine through onto the boats below.

    Looks like the Star of Hope has had too many close encounters with the dock! But it is a great thought for the New Year, although I think the world needs more than celestial help.

    The boats in the harbor pick up the light and the dark makes a good contrast. Yes, some things have to start to turn around for us.

    Just the right combination of light and darkness in your first photo. As to the second, I agree the world needs a large dose of hope this year. I hope people will stop killing each other in the streets and on the battlefields of the world.
