CDP Monthly Theme - Change

Phone booth to bus shelter:  This month Killybegs finally got the bus shelter they been trying to get for a few years.  No more waiting in the rain.  People are very happy!
When we first moved here in 2015, phones occupied this spot and offered a couple of people shelter from the rain.

Sept 2018, no more phones and the beginning of erecting a bus shelter

the following week, the new shelter appears

the pole could use a new sticker.

  2. You sit with your back to the busstop? Of course a shelter against wind from sea but perhaps a bit unusual.

  3. In a country with so much rain you need a shelter for sure! And no public phone anymore, here they are all gone too.

  4. We have a few bus shelters here, but I think every stop needs one.

  5. I guess with mobile phones there is no need for phone booths any more. Some buses have wi-fi connections now.

    God bless.

  10. I would think that, in Ireland, all bus stops would have shelters. You aren't called the Emerald Isle for nothing.

  13. It's hard to find a working phone booth these days. Turn 'em all into bus stop shelters I say!!

  21. Since mist folks these days have their own phones, a bus shelter seems more usefuk than a phone booth. Glad it’s finally done.

  22. When I first saw the headline, I thought someone had figured out how to convert a pair of phone booths into a bus shelter.

  25. That is definitely a change everyone must be happy to see! Covered bus shelters are important here in Oregon as well -- we would feel right at home in your climate!
