My father worked for Atlanta Georgia's bus company for 44 years. When I was in high school, I accompanied him to Germany where buses were being manufactured. In our country, some people are rehabilitating old buses as travel homes.
These were the only buses there so I really don't know. Maybe they use the old buses for parts but you'd think the parts would be outdated in today's buses.
All of our school buses here are bright yellow with black stripes...and some have white shiny tops. What a great picture of the bus boneyard though. Diana
Looks like a school bus junkyard. We've got one of those just south of Ocala. These are different than our buses...we're still using the old yellow things with no seat belts!
Hi Bill.
ReplyDeleteNice those old school buses.
Too bad they are not maintained.

The school bus I used in the 1960s was nearly as wrecked as some of those! I still remember the registration, LKH 272!
ReplyDeleteAll good things must come to an end.
ReplyDeleteThey look abandoned, but fairly modern. Is this a "graveyard" for buses?

Delete...they look older than that.
ReplyDeleteBit of an odd colour for a school bus

ReplyDeleteI am wondering what will be their fate...
ReplyDeleteThey look more luxurious than our school buses.

ReplyDeleteThey've seen better days.
ReplyDeleteJobless for some time!
ReplyDeleteA rather sad sight, like a bus graveyard.
ReplyDeleteThey look past their usefulness.
ReplyDeleteIf those old vehicles could talk...
ReplyDeleteThey have many stories to tell!
ReplyDeleteThey appear to have seen better days!
ReplyDeleteJa Bill deze bussen hebben hun tijd gehad, maar het is wel 'n mooi plaatje.
ReplyDeleteGroet kees.
You mean you didn't have yellow school buses? All our school buses were yellow.
ReplyDeleteSad to see them rotting away...
ReplyDeleteI daresay there are probably buses from this vintage still in service in the U.S.
ReplyDeleteI do like this photograph, although the buses somehow look a little forlorn as they sit there together!
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
