letterkenny town park II

This is the entrance to the herb garden in the Letterkenny Town Park.  It is a nice and quiet place unfortunately some the herbs were pass their growing time and were probably picked.  I have no idea if someone oversees this garden or if people can pick from the garden when it is in bloom.  I would imagine they have permission.  It's a nice addition to the town park.

A bench to sit in the shade

a guide to show you where the different herbs are planted

another bench to sit and relax

some of the herbs already were pass their growing time

  1. I love the rounded bench, and would have enjoyed a walk here.

  2. An unusual addition to a public park. I wonder if it's an old garden incorporated into the park from an old house.

  5. This is so interesting. I wonder if townspeople are in charge of this - plant and harvest the herbs. It's almost like a jungle maze.

  6. Such a pretty park Bill. I'm thinking how nice it would be if it was a community garden and locals could actually pick the herbs to use when ready.

  11. In addition to the scent and beauty of the place that guide is a wonderful education. So many of our herbs come to us as dried plants in a jar. How nice to see and smell them live and fresh.
