Did you know that a red telephone booth like the one in this beautiful photo is popular in my country, Bill? The model telephone booth is widely used as decoration in restaurant and miniature country park locations :)
Classic Caption - Heading To The Recycling And Here Is Something Out Dated And Needs To Be Recycled - Great Photo Mr Bill - I Often Associate Those Red Booths With The Movie 'American Werewolf In London' - Enjoy Your Weekend And Walk On My Good Man
Our last phone booths were mainly just a little stand on a pole, with a back of plexi-glass...not worth having as garden ornaments at all...however the earlier big black and glass booths were a bit better. But only the European red (or sometimes blue?) boxes have the glorified decorative nostalgia. US fans of Dr. Who might also love to have one in their yard.
We watch old episodes of "Heartbeat" every week and it is always amazing when someone comes upon one of these red phone booths way out in the middle of nowhere.
Phone booths are rare now here, in the United States, and I've always liked the looks of your phone booths better. But this one has me wondering "why is it even there?" Interesting.

Gosh, don't see many of those around.
ReplyDeleteHi Bill.
ReplyDeleteI like those old phone booths.
Greetings from Patricia.
A famous icon and it really jumps out in all that green.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteThe red phone boxes are famous, it seems weird to have one in a yard.
Take care, enjoy your day!
Is it still in use? Here all those phoneboxes have disappeared. Everyone has a cell phone nowadays.
ReplyDeleteI doubt it still works, probably just a yard ornament.
DeleteA beautiful red splash from the past, I also wonder if it is still in use...
ReplyDeleteI suspect that is not used much any more. I can't even remember the last time I used a pay phone and these days you would be hard pressed to find one.
ReplyDeleteI found an empty phone booth last year. So I got in and used my cell-phone.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
ohh that red telephone box is a clenodium now!Beautiful!
ReplyDelete...I like the classic red box!

ReplyDeleteCheers
I haven't seen one for a long time.

ReplyDeleteNice comparison of phone boot and recycling. This must be a rare photo booth.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if it still works!
ReplyDeleteIs it time to get rid of the cell phone and return to a ground line? :-) ☎
ReplyDeleteSuch an unusual sight these days.
ReplyDeleteVermelha e rara, adoraria se voltasse a tê-las pelo caminho, sou ainda enraizada no passado!
ReplyDeleteabraço.
We still have some, also and years ago I "even" saw a person using it...
ReplyDeleteHave a nice evening, Bill.

ReplyDeletePerhaps that is the Tardis and Dr. Who has just dropped by for a visit?
ReplyDeleteAquí en España ya no se utilizan, puede que en su país tampoco la utilicen y están ahora de adornos.
ReplyDeleteSiempre me han gustado esas cabinas por su vistosidad.
beautiful classic telephone booth
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice sight.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
We've got one- minus the phone, as it's just a photo op thing- at the British High Commissioner residence.
ReplyDeleteOlá querido Bill!
ReplyDeleteNo meio do vazio, é algo questionável?
Um abracinho de luz!🌼🌻🌼

Don't see many of them around anymore!
ReplyDeleteAlmost in the middle of nowhere! Loved the 2nd pic.
ReplyDeleteBill - seems a bit out of the way ... does anyone use phone boxes any more?
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun find! And certainly incongruous.
ReplyDeleteGood to see a telephone box as we don't see one often down here.
ReplyDeleteThat's a brilliant garden ornament Bill 😉
ReplyDeleteI love red phone booths and this look pretty along the fence and trees and a neat home nearby!

ReplyDeleteYou would be hard pressed to find a phone booth in these parts, and while this one is colorful, it most likely is decorative vs. functional.
