signs

of a flood.  The river Eske is located across the street and caused some flooding last month.  These photos were taken a month ago when we were in Donegal Town and after the water level of the river receded.

  2. Awful. Hubby´s apartment flooded twice. First time only centimeters, but the mud and the bad smell, yikes.
Second time he was with me in Braunschweig - we had 13 years of weekend relationship - he said, if his apartment floods again he will move in with me in Braunschweig.
I was "mean". I crossed my fingers for it and the water was so high it even went into the bathtub.
But we live togerther ever since. Something good in most bad.
A happy day for you, Bill. To no more flooding...

  3. If we already have a pandemic, there's gonna be a flood. How much misery a human being can have at the same time.

  12. Those sand bags look as if they've never been flooded...so perhaps they were set out and then the water didn't make it that far...I hope!

  13. ...my SIL works for a local Highway Department and they have been filling sand bags to have on hand. Thanks Bill for stopping by, take care.

  17. Flooding is another disaster. Hope the sandbags kept the water out of the shop, but they often do not.

  18. That river is pretty close to the businesses. I'd think flooding would happen quite often.

  22. Is that then from rainwater? Or out of the mountains?

  23. I'm sure having a river that close is a little stressful when it starts to rise.

  24. Our yard where we used to live flooded a lot during our rainy season and hurricanes. Thank goodness the house sat on a slope, the water never quite made it to the house.

  25. It seems there is a lot of flooding everywhere. It rained a lot here lately when there were tornadoes nearby. My accuweather app now tells me there is a flood watch in Nashville, Tennessee, today until 8 pm. Luckily I live about 5 miles from the river. But there is now a lovely sun, maybe it will dry everything up fast.

  26. It hasn't rained here for a month except for a few drops. At the beginning of the summer and already worrisome.

  34. Bill - not much margin for error here - the river does not have to rise far for flooding. Hopefully there was not much damage!
