terrible weather

Yesterday it rained and poured all day with thunderstorms.  There was flooding all around here, some roads and some bridges were totally washed away.  We were lucky and only lost our internet connection last night.  A friend who lives in Muff (about 15 minutes from Moville) couldn't get home.  She, her husband and baby were stranded with some other people at a gas station.   We just found out that their house is flooded and they won't be able to go back.  We are listening to the radio and lots of people were affected and can't go home.  Hopefully things will be worked out for each and everyone of those affected.

  2. How terrible those floods. Mostly we have a rather simular weather with you, but we didn't have this at all. On the contrary we had a wonderful sunny day without winds. Hope weather will improve soon!

  7. Is this been the rainiest season or is it my imagination?
Hope the situation will go back to normal and that material losses are kept to a minimum.

  8. We must have caught that storm last night as there was torrential rain and thunder.
Its the terrible after effects like your friend's home being flooded that are the worst part.

  9. I can't imagine what it would be like to have my home flooded Bill, there is no stopping Mother Nature at times. I hope the rain ceases and those poor folk can get things sorted out and back into their homes.

  11. I wish the best for everyone, Bill! Here in Montreal we had a microburst and many trees were downed and the rain was heavy and winds were strong, and a lot of people, including myself, lost power for a couple of hours. Take good care of yourself.

  17. Wasn't that the tail end of the hurricane that swept up the east coast of N America? Friends in Liverpool said it was heading towards them too!

  18. So much rain. You commented once on mine that your daughter lived in Portland -- I imagine she feels quite at home especially in the winter -- beautiful and green here in Oregon but a lot of water from the sky to keep it that way!

  19. Oh goodness, you can do without this weather can't you!
We had thunderstorms recently too, but it wasn't as wet as this.

    All the best Jan

  20. It sounds dreadful. We're hearing about terrible floods in Texas, too. I'm glad you were home safe and sound but so sorry to hear that it's a trial for your friends and others.
