looking toward the pier. The tall white house you see is the ark house which you may remember. This wee beach is good for finding pieces of pottery and sea glass which we collect to use in some of our craft projects.
Sea glass is broken glass that has been in the water a long time and its edges had been smoothed by the water and eventually gets washed up on shore by the tides. We usually find brown, green, blue and clear. It's nice.
I remember "sea glass" from when I lived in Duluth, Minnesota as a youngster. It was wonderful...all smooth but yet a bit rough in a variety of colors. I collected a ton of it but it's all gone now and I don't know where and I wish I had had the foresight to keep it.

That is such a pretty view, Bill. I wonder what 'sea glass' is?

The moodiness of that sky appeals to me!
ReplyDeleteWish I could see in in your hands. Photo :-) Are you of others making mobiles or wall hangings with it?
ReplyDeleteLove that cove...and being able to see around the bend. You never know what you'll find washed up on the shore, right?!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful pic!
ReplyDeleteIt is very pretty. I would enjoy a walk there!
ReplyDeleteI bet the water is cold even in summer. We hope to be visiting a warmer beach in three or four weeks.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful, serene spot, though sad. Ireland lost so many to emigration.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely scene! It looks like a calm and quiet place.
ReplyDeleteKind of gray there at the moment. Yesterday was pretty cold in Florida but at least the sky was blue.
