...when I was in high school I rode a city bus to school and the bus ran over a pedestrian. I've never forgotten it. Thankfully things are a bit safer today. Thanks Bill for sharing.
Signs everywhere, some of them make sense and some seem a bit over the top. But signs promoting safety around buses should never be ignored. Too many accidents and too many distracted drivers. I think driving is getting worse and worse.
I have an acquaintance that was hit just like that.
Here in California, when the school busses stop and flash their lights, all drivers on both sides of the road must stop until the lights are turned off (which can take some time). To violate is an $1000.00.
It's too bad that there isn't a way a warning like that would come up automatically on phones when people are walking near traffic. It may be the only way to get their attention.
Gostei deste sinal e aproveito para desejar a continuação de uma boa semana.

That Irish language looks very difficult to me.
ReplyDeleteSad such signs are needed - isn´t that just sensitive, logical thinking?
ReplyDeleteBut, well. "Smart"phones make people rather dumb (I´m old...).
A good warning, maybe you should also not walk with a mobile in your hand while crossing the traffic...
ReplyDeleteGood advice. Seems like it should have also cautioned about using a phone while walking on the street.
ReplyDeleteSigns of the times.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Hope you have more luck there with drivers and school buses letting off and picking up students. There have been a number of close calls lately!
ReplyDeleteAs a former bus driver I have seen a lot of dumb things. Some of them were fatal.
ReplyDeleteI agree, I think a phone warning would be better.

ReplyDeleteThe phone warning will be the next sign they put up! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI agree with the comments above. Better safe than sorry.

Ha Bill, dat is een goede raadgever, veiligheid bovenal.
ReplyDeleteGroet Kees.
Good advice!
ReplyDeleteMobile phones are sometimes a danger to children.
Big brother is watching----and sometime that is a good thing

Good advice!
ReplyDeleteThat's on all the busses here now...but in only one language. :)
ReplyDeleteThe same for a truck. Greetings Caroline
ReplyDeleteGreat advice which should be taken seriously.
ReplyDeleteHi Bill 🍁🍂🍁
Sounds like good advice. Just hope people listen to it!!
ReplyDeleteThis sign is giving good advice. Makes perfect sense.
ReplyDeleteSome of the same advice to be found in and around buses here, though the other language is French.
ReplyDeleteValid reminders.

ReplyDeleteNeed more signs like that around here I think too many people busy looking at their phones instead of what's happening around them.
ReplyDeleteImportant message.
ReplyDeleteGood advice ✨
ReplyDeleteI like Kay's idea.
ReplyDeleteThat is a good idea from Kay!
ReplyDeleteIn the meantime signs hopefully help …
All the best Jan
