seen from Creeslough, Co. Donegal.
Muckish is a distinctive mountain in the Derryveagh Mountains of County Donegal, Ireland. At 667.1 metres (2,189 ft), it is the third-highest peak in the Derryveagh Mountains and the 163rd highest in Ireland. Muckish is also the most northern and second highest of the mountain chain called the "Seven Sisters" by locals. Have you ever been up there?
ReplyDeleteNo but I would love to hike it.
DeleteThis sister looks very nice :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful view, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Wow what a sister. So now I am looking to even meet some more sisters.
ReplyDeleteHi Bill.
ReplyDeleteA nice quiet area.
Greeting from Patricia.
At first I read 6671 m and then I saw the decimal point! Curious that the height would be shown with such precision. I have never seen that before.
ReplyDeleteProbably it was originally measured in feet, then converted to metres, hence the .1
DeleteHello, pretty view of the mountain. The Seven Sisters have some strange names.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday, enjoy your day and new week.
A beautiful view of the mountain. Enjoy your day.
ReplyDelete...now this isn't what comes to mind when I think of term muck or muckish.
ReplyDeleteThe sister with the ugly name. Not justified at all by what I can see in the photo.
ReplyDeleteThe sister looks rather old and comfortable. It must make or a good hike!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely and serene photo this is Bill.
ReplyDeleteI love the beauty of the green against the mountain and the animals add their own special touch~
Interesting names. I like the division of the two colors in the landscape.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, it's a very forbidding looking place, compared to all of the green beauty below it. It looks pretty steep, too. If you go hiking there, I hope there is a more gradual incline path you can take, to get to the top.
ReplyDeleteUma bela panorâmica.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e um bom mês de Junho.

That's such a great picture. That dark mountain in the background really makes the green pop in the picture.
ReplyDeleteIncredible names on the mountains. Love them!
ReplyDeleteGlad they weren't my sisters. I'd never be able to pronounce their names.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty!
ReplyDeleteHa Bill. Mooi om te weten, zo leer ik nog eens iets over Ierland. Je mag van mij meer zulke post doen, erg leuk meer over Ierland te weten.
ReplyDeleteGroet Kees.
That looks beautiful - mountains are my favorite scenery, and I bet that one would have wonderful views.
ReplyDeleteI love her. She's watching over her people.
ReplyDeleteArdloughnabrackbaddy. Now there's a mouthful! Muckish Mountain sounds easy by comparison. (Thank you for your kind comments on my Iceland pix. I appreciate them.)
ReplyDeletePretty countryside there. Out thisaway that would be a hill but still with a mountain name. Behind us is Mt. Murray but really just a hill

I wish we had some green around here. We have had an unusually dry spring ... and there's a lot of brown right now. Summer rain, anyone?
ReplyDeleteScenic mountain and pretty capture there along the green pastures !
ReplyDeleteI would be overwhelmed if I lived near such a mountain. It has such presence!
ReplyDeleteVery nice....looks almost volcanic.
ReplyDeleteThe sisters had hard to spell names!
ReplyDeleteI just love seeing and trying to pronounce the names of places there!
