a friend told me that about sixty years ago a local man that he knew used to ride his bike to visit an elderly couple who lived here, they were in their nineties. That's all I was told and so it's interesting to think how life was in the small house all those years ago. I imagine after they died, the place sat uninhabited for all these years.
Uma casa a precisar urgentemente de reparação.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e continuação de boa semana.

It is sad to see something like this happening... but I do like photographing them.
ReplyDeleteIt seems nothing has changed in all those years, only the declay has done its job.
ReplyDeletethe stories those walls could tell, its a lovely spot, hauntingly beautiful
ReplyDeleteWhat stories it could tell.
ReplyDelete...quite the fixer upper!
ReplyDeleteThose beautiful stone walls...how my heart aches for these abandoned old buildings. The vegetation that so often covers places that have been forgotten...seem to be trying to hide their sad conditions from prying eyes.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos Bill 🌹
Hi Bill.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures Bill.
It must have been nice to stay there anyway.
Groettie from Patricia.
The sad structure must be holding so many beautiful memories. Beautifully shot.
ReplyDeleteThese photos really tell a story, Bill. You are a brilliant photographer. Just three photos ... and they say so much.
ReplyDeleteGod bless you.
It looks like it was a pretty place when it was in better shape.
ReplyDeleteSad to see properties abandoned after being used for so many years.
ReplyDeleteI think that could be a compact house for two and now stand in memories of them! Nice capture
ReplyDeleteIt must have been a fine house once.
ReplyDeleteAnd nature is slowly reclaiming it.
ReplyDeleteOh that's a shame Bill, I'm sure this was a much loved home ✨
ReplyDeleteHey Bill prachtig, ik hou van dit soort foto's, hier doe je me veel plezier mee.
ReplyDeleteGroet kees.
A sad sight, Bill!
ReplyDeleteI imagine it was cozy in its time.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I have driven many a back road, up in the hills,
ReplyDeleteand have seen many, many abandoned homes much like this . . .
Oh the stories they could tell . . .
The stone amazes me . . . look how it stands true, while the wood is less so.
I wonder if the 90 year old couple died in the house.
Who brought them care . . .
Who stood by . . .
I wonder where the stories are . . .
People need houses...and the houses need people...
ReplyDeleteWhen I see old abandoned houses, my head fills up with questions and I get a bit sad wondering about them.
ReplyDeletelooks like a nice place to live, how sad to be abondonned !
ReplyDeleteIt has definitely seen better days.
