I did this when I was in elementary school...it was a great honor. But then I stopped some cars when I wasn't supposed to and they fired me! Sheesh! She's certainly dressed for the occasion ... can't miss her.
I admire these school crossing patrol workers who are usually very cheerful and helpful in all weathers! At least the people I've met at our children's school were very good!
Keeping the children safe is an important job.
ReplyDeleteIn the old days I did the same in Amsterdam when I was twelve years old! The traffic must have been not that heavy in the fifties....
ReplyDeleteLook like she'd probably whack you with it if you didn't stop. :-)
ReplyDeleteShe looks very dedicated in doing her job! Nice street photo, Bill.
ReplyDelete...she is hard to miss!
ReplyDeleteYou sure not overlook her.
ReplyDeleteShe does a fine job. Probably called a school crossing patrol operative these days!

Nice image.... I love the little one waiting to perhaps cross over.
Many people hold this job, often extra nice, child-loving sorts. I love the "Lollipop Lady" name.
