road tradegy

Unfortunately, two male teenagers lost their lives early Saturday morning, 3:30am.  Three others were taken to hospital and are expected to recover.  This weekend is a bank holiday weekend (3 day weekend) and the Gardai have been telling drivers on social media and over the radio to be careful when driving. The car had hit a wall and then a tree.   Such a tragedy.

  1. So sad, we often hear this here too, a car full of young people getting an accident in the night.

  2. Such a loss of young lives is sad. We have a five day weekend this time (from Thursday 27th April until Tuesday 2 May) and the media is imploring people to drive with care. We were out on our local tourist road yesterday and were appalled at the way people overtake on double barriers, on blind rises and drive at far higher speeds than the limit. My husband always mutters: those are the people who cause accidents!

  4. Heartbreaking. I wonder if they were texting or just not paying attention. When we're young we tend to harbor this false illusion that we an do anything and live through it.

  5. It is distressing to hear of tragic deaths such as these when one human error, usually with young people in high spirits, causes the end of their lives.

  6. ...when you are young, you think that you will live forever.

  9. So sad to hear this Bill, it breaks my heart when I hear on the news about people dying in road crashes. I always think well that's a family's lives changed forever, especially now that our family know first hand that it's true.
