Hello Bill :) The house looks new, so perhaps the rock was always there, and rather than move a heavy rock, the owners of the house just left it there. It's central position could be the making of a nice rock garden. All the best Sonjia
That does make one wonder. We have several large rocks along the edge of our property, but it is with purpose. The purpose being to keep vehicles from coming up on our bank. :)
Maybe it's like an iceberg where only the tip is sticking out of the grass and the rest of it is so big and underground that it was easier to leave it there than dig it out.
Ess una buena casa de campo, con dos ventanas y dos chimeneas en el tejado. Tiene un hermoso jardín repleto de césped. Lo que me llama la atención es la gran roca de primer plano, tiene que tener un significado muy especial para los habitantes de la casa. Saludos.
Stile tipico dell'Irlanda!
ReplyDeleteNot sure about the rock, I do like the house. Take care, enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteIs it to stop grass growing there?
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Nice house 🏠
ReplyDeleteHi Bill.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful house.
Greetings from Patricia.
...Bill, you live in a rocky place.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure whether glaciers covered Ireland. If they did, it’s perhaps a rock deposited by receding ice.

To heavy to remove I guess.
ReplyDeleteOh, some things don't move as fast as others. Might as well let it stay. Awesome shot!
ReplyDeleteThat's a cool little house and garden :-D

ReplyDeleteDavid had the same thought as me.
ReplyDeleteI like the juxtaposition of the new house and the old rock.
ReplyDeleteCool photo.
ReplyDeleteIt does look a bit strange since the rest of the lawn is so smooth and flat.
ReplyDeleteThere must be a story there, Bill.
ReplyDeleteVery different design for this house. Yes, interesting rock.
ReplyDeleteIts The Charlie Brown Factor , I Got A Rock There Mr Bill
ReplyDeleteGr8 Photo ,
Cheers
There might not be a rhyme or reason behind that rock, Bill, but the photo is excellent!

ReplyDeleteIt must be just decorative. I like the idea.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful house ❤️

A bit spooky...?
ReplyDeleteAchei tanto a rocha, como a casa maravilhosas.
ReplyDeleteA nice looking house.
ReplyDeleteThere must be a reason for that rock! What it is we do not know!
All the best Jan
Perhaps a reminder to the proprietor about how much he has to be grateful for?
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's just the tip of a much larger rock that was too hard to remove?
ReplyDeleteI particularly love the green
ReplyDeleteBella imagen. te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteSó espero que não seja um túmulo da família. rsrsrsrs
ReplyDeleteNova tirinha publicada. 😺
Abraços 🐾 Garfield Tirinhas Oficial.
Could be just as much rock under the ground, who knows.
ReplyDeleteDecoration? There are worse things to put on a lawn.
ReplyDeleteOMGosh, for some reason this is so funny to me. Thanks for the laugh.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful garden and house
