today's specials
crosswalk sign
HB confirmed the news of the discontinuation by saying that Irish tastes have moved on from the simple chocolate-coated vanilla ice-cream. First releasing in the 60's, the Choc Ice became the backbone of all Irish ice creams - the bedrock upon which this country's frozen dairy products have been built upon. But it is now, unfortunately, time to say goodbye.

Same here and what I also notice is that those packaged ice creams are also smaller than they used to be.
ReplyDeleteNice collection.
ReplyDeleteStrange. I always thought that is and stays the basic.
ReplyDeleteGlad I don´t like sweets much anyways...
Hello,
ReplyDeleteIt is sad the ice cream will be gone. I like the menu sign. Take care, enjoy your day!
Some really good specials. Oh, it seems nobody likes dairy anymore when it comes to ice cream...so we've been having to make our own from Heavy Cream. Awesome post!
ReplyDeleteYo compro el típico bombón de vainilla y chocolate almendrado. Tiene un buen tamaño y es el que nos gusta a todos en casa.
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo
Not much for a vegetarian on that menu.
ReplyDeleteThe price of that menu is reasonable!
ReplyDeleteNice food on the menu. I love vanilla chocolate coated ice-cream. What a pity they are discontinuing it.
ReplyDeleteBon appetit.

We are in rhubarb crumble season too. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI think I'll take the chicken
ReplyDeleteInteresting to see the transition sign
What hardy meals at the pub!
ReplyDeleteInteresting to see a common everyday thing like a street crossing device that is different to what we are used to seeing if that makes any sense.... Sad to lose an old friend of a treat 😔
I wonder who the people are that would be so eager to discontinue a long-time favorite dessert? Hope what replaces it can live up to it's legacy, Bill.
ReplyDeleteThe signs look fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI like the cross walk sign. Have not seen one like it before.
ReplyDeleteLove rhubarb!! Oh no, no ice cream!? I'll be having some in a little while!
They keep on playing with the walk signs . I guess pople don't get it so they try making a better sign.
ReplyDeleteThe pedestrian crossing sign is unique. Sorry to see the Choc Ice go.
ReplyDeleteSad to see the choc ice go. Had to go back and catch up with all the pictures...enjoyed them all, and your new header. Your pictures are beautiful.
