  4. Wonderful. Part of history. Look at the wonderful stonework. If only those walls could talk ...

    God bless.

  7. So charming. Would love to know the story behind that.

  8. Looks like it's seen better days but I bet it was beautiful once.

  9. The stone work must have been very well done. Vegetation looks like it might win the war and the building will disappear into the underbrush.

  10. That is an old one. When the wood finally goes away, those stones will still be there.

  11. It looks like it's been there a very long time.

  12. The stone walls will outlast that roof and probably the next roof too.

  17. It certainly is crumbling down, but made me wonder how many years had passed until it got to this state.

  18. Derelict old buildings always interest me and if I saw this one (especially because of the stonework) I’d take a million pictures ....of course I always wish I knew the story of what happened to let them get to that state.

  19. Truly, this could be just down the road from my farm. A lovely old building.

  20. Aren't these also called "famine houses"? Either they were abandoned by death or by those who had to immigrate during the famine years.

    1. There are some famine houses around but this stone structure is in the back of someone's property. Probably used as a storage area at one time.
