There was a vintage car rally in town on Sunday. It was very crowded and I got a few photos before I left. I'm not a big fan of cars but there were some that I did like and this MG was one of them. The rest of the cars below, I don't have a clue what make they are so if anyone knows that would be great. I understand that there are rallies going on all summer in different towns so these people will probably show up in one of them.
Hi Bill.
ReplyDeleteLooks like all those old cars.
Groettie from Patricia.
Real treasures.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the whole vehicle department of the BBC made their appearance.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is the season for the oldtimers on the road. I saw them last Sunday here too.
ReplyDeletePrachtig Bill, Ik vind het helemaal geweldig al die old timers. ook hier bij ons is er wel eens zo'n races.
ReplyDeleteGroet Kees.
I can see myself driving the red car... if only someone could transfer the steering wheel to the left side. :))
ReplyDeleteThe first time I was in the U.K. I had such a hard time crossing the street! I could easily be identified as a tourist. :)
Que maravilha, belas máquinas.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e boa semana.

...other than the red MG, these are 'foreign' to me!
ReplyDeleteTrue gems from the past.
ReplyDeleteFist one was built in Abingdon down the road from me, nice collection
ReplyDelete4th pic is a green Austin of England, 1956ish I think, next to a nice white VW bug. Next pic is 2 tone blue Ford Cortina from the 1960s? Last pic is the other end of the Austin.
ReplyDeleteLove these photos! The MG is a beauty.
ReplyDeleteThe red car is just fantastic..... Than I thought about all the rain and wind we have here.
ReplyDeleteSo if I had had the chance I would have bought the green one :-)
I could have spent time here.
Hi Bill, all beautiful machines: the second car (teal-colored VS 2932) is a Wolsely. The next one is a Ford Cortina. The car with KSV 988 registration is a 37 Chev. The last car 789 HMH registrations is another Wolsely. Now before you think I'm one clever old lady, I'm NOT. My daring husband stood behind me admiring the cars on your post and identified them all. Lovely rally - we saw a lot of that on beautiful warm sunny days in England. Have a great day. Jo
ReplyDeleteNope, VZ 2932 is definitely an Austin. Look at the A on the bonnet (hood). And so is the last car 789 HMH. It even says Austin of England right on the boot.... oooops sorry, you call it a trunk.
DeletePara mim pode ser o primeiro.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço.

Old cars are not a cheap hobby, and I believe that people really love their own ones. I love to watch them but not own them.. :). The red car is really lovely.
ReplyDeleteThe MG is a beauty! I'm lousy with identifying cars myself.
ReplyDeleteOh my, that MG would be my favorite too! I'd look pretty good driving that one.
ReplyDeleteThey all look so exotic to these Canadian eyes!
ReplyDeleteI agree. The MG is a masterpiece of design for the time.
ReplyDeleteWell maintained beautiful oldies!
ReplyDeleteMy husband had an MG many years before we met. He restored it and then couldn't bear to drive it for fear it would be damaged. He still remembers that with some longing.
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous vintage cars, Bill! Thank you so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI love these beautiful old cars. My favourite is the red one!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful collection of cars, esp the red roadster!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous cars, Bill !
ReplyDeleteCars are just a utility to me, too, but for some reason I remember that MG stands for Morris Garage. Who or where Morris is remains a mystery.
ReplyDeleteThat is a wide range of automobiles. I am not a car-o-phile, but I do admire the sculptural lines of some of the old ones.
