The issues regarding the Gardaí are very concerning it said on the news. The Garda Siochana had over-estimated the number of breath tests carried out each year by almost a million. Another
mistake also means around €150,000 road traffic offences may need to be
wiped because of a clerical error by the gardaí and the latest scandal involves almost 15,000 wrongful road traffic convictions.
It's incredible that the Gardai can be so inept, no wonder their moral is down.

Perhaps they need also housing with a more police aura?
ReplyDeleteThe joys of living in democracy. In a dictatorship they all would still be guilty.
ReplyDeleteOh my that's pretty serious! It does nothing for public confidence in the integrity of their police force.
ReplyDeleteThe station is rather homely too!
The station looks more like a cosy bungalow in the country, it is bad they don't do their work more seriously.
ReplyDelete...sounds like home.
ReplyDeleteWell, what can I say. We have some great cops and then we've got a number or racist assholes who shoot black men for no reason. I don't have any answers. But I think that your problem is indicative of a larger problem affecting all countries. Honor, morality, ethical behavior, integrity - all seem to have left the building. And what really bothers me is the hatred that is surfacing in the U.S.
ReplyDeleteSorry, sometimes I get on my soapbox and rant on and on! :)
I agree totally with Lowell and glad that he voiced concerns that so many of us have here in the US. Hate is already widespread and it is taking a frightening toll on too many innocent people. I hope that Ireland can reverse this trend that seems to be creeping in.
ReplyDeleteOops comes to mind.
ReplyDeleteIs that a station? I like lowells answer to your post.
ReplyDeleteMais parece uma casa normal e não uma estação.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e bom fim-de-semana.

That doesn't sound good.
ReplyDeleteSomeone goofed big time!
ReplyDeleteNot very confidence inspiring, to say the least.
ReplyDeleteIs it mean of me to be glad that incompetence doesn't reside only in the White House?
ReplyDeleteGoodness me! Well I guess if you are going to make a mistake you may as well make a big one hey Bill!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know there was a problem. I've driven plenty in Ireland. Thank heavens I've never been stopped.
ReplyDeleteHoly cow! Overstated by 1 million?! Jeeze, what a legal nightmare with possible wrongful convictions...not to mention a potential financial mess. Makes one wonder how things like that happen.
