a bus window shot I took the last time I was on a bus back in Sept. It looks like he is standing on top of the sign but he is actually on the side of the house.
The Guinness toucan was developed for an advertising campaign by John Gilroy in the 1930s. ... A colorful toucan smiles serenely with one or two pints of the black stuff balanced easily on its giant beak. This iconic vintage Guinness poster decorates the walls of Irish pubs and homes of beer lovers worldwide.

A cute one! Nothing for me, though. Had one once and got sooo tired from it... bed-time! ;-)ReplyDelete
I also thought he was on top of the signpost.
But the side of the house is also very nice.
Greetings from Patricia.
Guinness. Stout. The only beer I'll drink. I've never seen the toucan before, but I like it. Optical illusions are great when photographed.ReplyDelete
A funny one and very deceptive. I really fell for it.ReplyDelete
A funny one!ReplyDelete
Wow... perfect alinement Bill.ReplyDelete
That's awesome shot.ReplyDelete
This is a funny one.ReplyDelete
...it sure lined up!ReplyDelete
It shows that my attraction to Guinness is poorly developed since I am totally unfamiliar with this sign. Next time I am in the liquor store picking up wine I will check in the imported beer section to see whether they carry Guinness. i suspect they do. But I don't know of anyone who drinks it. No doubt it would be a favourite for expat Irish living here.ReplyDelete
Good catch! :)ReplyDelete
What Fantastic Moment In Time Mr Bill - You Made A Picture Worthy Of A Thousand WordsReplyDelete
Great catch...I never heard of the Guinness Toucan! Yes, this Monday I learned something1ReplyDelete
This is lovely!ReplyDelete
Cute a beer drinking toucan! I like the mural.
I only drink Guinness when I am in Ireland!ReplyDelete
Cute toucan mural Bill, and certainly looks as if he's on top of the sign.ReplyDelete
Thanks for participating in Monday Murals.
That is pretty amazing the way you caught that photo perfectly to make it look like it was sitting on that sign.ReplyDelete
Una fotografia lograda en el momento justo!!
Es dificil coincidir el letrero y el tucan te quedo perfecta, desde la ventana del colectivo.
Me gusto escuchar la historia de este tucan hecho logo.
Un placer visitarte!!
A fine takeoff on that famous 1930s Guinness poster by John Gilroy. With this image there is no need to write the name Guinness.ReplyDelete
Great shot from a bus window.ReplyDelete
A nice touch...ReplyDelete
Pretty neat. You took that photo just at the right moment.ReplyDelete
Good catch, Bill!ReplyDelete
I have a pint glass with the toucan on it. I can too if the toucan can.ReplyDelete
Tiene mucho mérito como la has captado. Efectivamente da la impresión, de que está encima del letrero.ReplyDelete
Great shot, Bill. One would never know the toucan was on the building.ReplyDelete
very well caught from the busReplyDelete
I like that!ReplyDelete
nice to see this Guinness Toucan 🍺
Thanks for your soothing words on my blog "Maybe someday we will all enjoy some peace and each other." - that's what I hope every day!
Stay safe - best wishes from Austria,
That is a great photo, you timed it perfectly! :-D Jeez cannot remember the last time I was on a bus :-| Either walk or drive or partner drives me haha!ReplyDelete
Nice capture. Back when I drank beer a Guinness was my choice. Fun to be in Ireland one time in a pub drinking it on my birthday and everyone there sang happy birthday to me. Great memory.ReplyDelete
I love a good Guinness in Ireland, but it doesn't taste the same here in the states.ReplyDelete
Ah, Guinness. We toured the plant in Dublin in 2013; I'd never even heard of it before that. My husband fell in love with it, but I just don't like it beyond a sip or two. When we went back to Ireland in 2017 he had Guinness to his heart's content. I had tea, LOL.ReplyDelete
Love toucan---good advertReplyDelete
The beer advertising campaign from Guinness has a very good concept, different from most product advertisements. I am also amazed by your carefulness in obtaining photo objects.
Oh I love the timing on this shot Bill, isn't it so fun when you download a quick shot and get a result like this 💛ReplyDelete
I like this :)ReplyDelete
All the best Jan
