new roof

looks like a new roof is being placed on this house.  I wonder if those are birds nests in the tree.  I just noticed them after I put the photo on the computer.

gate house

while walking, we passed this rather cute wee house surrounded by trees.

This is the only info I could find on the Gate House in Mountcharles

Not visible in this shot because of foliage, but this house has an extremely steeply pitched roof; rare and perhaps the work of a distinguished architect of Edwardian times; this is a matter for research and a second picture to be taken in winter when a better view exists.

what's he doing

usually you can see the birds sit around these chimneys when its cold.  This chimney doesn't have the mesh cones on it to keep the birds out.  The bird looking down is watching one of his buddies who just went inside.  Don't know how long it stayed inside but it can't be good for the owners.

preparations

being made to do some roof work.  Notice how the ladder is being held, not good!  Photo was taken this past Friday as we were walking to the grocery store.
