saturday critters
some of the dogs I see when I'm out walking
this dog was watching as I passed
this cute dog was guarding the property, not a peep from him when I pass but the eyes were following
a nice friendly old dog who usually can be found sleeping in his yard or on the corner keeping watch of who comes and goes.

statue stolen
the statue was stolen this past weekend. The article from the Journal.ie website is below the photo so you can read it. I wonder why it was stolen, certainly someone would recognize it.

GARDAÍ IN SLIGO are investigating the theft of a bronze statue from a car park in Drumcliffe, Co Sligo over the weekend.
The statue was taken from the main car park of the town sometime between Friday and Sunday.
The statue forms part of a larger sculpture which displays the WB Yeats poem, He Wishes For The Cloths Of Heaven. It was sculpted by Jackie McKenna and was first unveiled in 2003. The grave of WB Yeats is located at Drumcliffe Church. “After last nights wonderful Carol Service, two guards informed us the sculpture from the main car park had been stolen,” an account for the church tweeted.
Any info on its safe return would be greatly appreciated.
Anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the Drumcliffe area over the weekend or with any information is asked to contact gardaí in Sligo on 071-9157000.

Christmas Tree Festival at the Methodist Chruch, Donegal Town. We were in town the day before this started so we missed it. We read that it was well attended and they extended it for one day. Unfortunately we couldn't attend. Killybegs had one of these events a few years back, hopefully it will return this year so we can attend.
Trees range from showcasing the creative skills of community groups to businesses entering themed trees relative to their trade. There are also a number of thought-provoking entries which have led to much conversation among the visitors. Entries have been created by people of all ages, from school children and up to many adult groups. The massive range of entries means that there really is something for everyone to enjoy.
Those who attend can also enjoy hot drinks, home bakes and a chance to sit and chat with other visitors.

school crossing
creating a safer area for the school kids to cross the street when arriving or leaving. Parents drop off their kids on either side of the road depending on which way they are coming.

finishing the area right in front of the school
the new improved area in front of the school. All that is left to do is create a crosswalk and install a light so students can safely cross the road. Right now the students just cross the road when they have a chance. This is a major road for lots of traffic including big trucks. Better to be safe than sorry.
