crappy day
with a crappy photo. Went outside and took this one photo, I don't like it but it will do. :) The wind came and brought some hail with it just in case we wanted it. And in the afternoon, I started sneezing and couldn't stop for a bit. Crazy!

wall collapse
on the side of the coastguard building we had a small building which wasn't used for anything. I think it was a small place to park a car many years ago. With the strong gusty winds we had during the week, the outside wall blew down. Our neighbor parks his car in the space you see on the left. Luckily it wasn't damaged so the other day he started to lower the remaining wall so it wouldn't be a problem. Next month, he will rent a dumpster (skip) to have the cement blocks hauled away.
this is the front, trees had been growing inside for years. It had a door, an opening for a window and no roof. Not very sturdy for strong winds. So the collapse was the loud noise we heard on Sunday night. It's rather interesting, nobody really paid attention to the building.

Storm Gareth
arrived Tues morning just as I left to do an errand. It brought some gusty winds, hail and heavy rain which is still going on in the evening. The forecast also mentioned there could be risks of flooding but there are no signs of that. I wonder if spring will return with some sunny weather.

storm callum
came through on Friday. We had wind gusts of more than 110km/h (68 mph) and thousands of people lost power but we were lucky and didn't have any problems. It was a lot calmer today just a some rain.

the foyle hotel
the rain and gusty wind is causing some of the plastic covering to rip and flap around. Tying up the ripped ends helped.

st. patrick's day parade 1
The parade started at 2:30 sharpish. It was raining and we heard on the radio that a few communities in county Donegal were cancelling their festivities because of rain and gusty winds. Moville still went ahead with their parade regardless of the rain and wind. It was a great event in a small rural village, fun for everyone.
I'll be showing more of the parade on Sunday.

blowing in the wind
with some clouds and occasional rain mixed in.
I am currently on the road in Clifden, west of Galway and unfortunately the wifi stinks. My blog is set up till Friday so when I return, I will catch up with you all. It took me an hour to add this note, it's so aggravating :( I guess we are spoiled when it comes to technology--we want it and we want it instantly. Have a great rest of the week!

wait a few minutes
When we first got down by the water, the sky was gray and it started to rain with some wind gusts. When we left about a half hour later, this is what it looked like. Change happens fast.

windy and wet
Yesterday was extremely windy and waves were crashing off the rocks. The sound of the wind and waves together was rather noisy and in some places it was hard to stand up straight. It was interesting that in a few places as you turned a corner, all you heard was silence for a few seconds. It was strange and different but enjoyable. You never know how the scene will unfold until you are there. Enjoy your day wherever you are!
