there has been an increase in heating oil theft this winter. The perpetrators
come at night and drain the tank of its oil. People are told to report
any suspicious activity in their neighborhoods to the gardai (police).
You can see how easy it is to get access to a tank when it's placed out
there in the open. Not all tanks sit outside like this one, some keep
them locked up in a shed. This tank is rather small compared to others
I've seen.

Garden of Remembrance
A Garden of Remembrance is also located in a section of the Letterkenny Town Park. It opened in honour of the memory of members of the
GardaĆ and Army who have given their lives in service of the United Nations. A stone bench was unveiled in the park on 10 July 2007 to honour James Duffy (VC), a British soldier during the First World War, and an Irish recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy.

a day of deliveries
I happened to be out when these three trucks were heading in to town to deliver some more windmill sections. These sections were not as long as the previous ones so there was no problems or delays. I saw a Garda vehicle drive up ahead to monitor the situation. After taking a few photos we headed down toward the water. I noticed that some people still get their milk delivered. I remember when I was growing up, we had a milkman deliver our milk but it was in a glass bottle and it was placed inside by our door. Here, in most cases there isn't an inside door. The mornings are cool so I guess the milk is ok to be outside for a bit. If you can't place the milk by a door, I guess the window is the next best option.
