I saw some of the effects of Bert on the news here. Substantial damage in places. Welcome to anthropogenically- induced climate change. And no, folks, it’s not a hoax.
We cut our big Maple before this happened. It was sad to see it go, but it had been threatening for a while..and with the wild weather we've been having the neighbors were afraid it would fall on their car, but it was actually well rooted after all. Thanks so much for this photo. If it was here it would be a home for the squirrels and maybe the raccoons too.
Querido Bill, preciosa y triste foto, no podemos darnos el gusto de perder un árbol, ellos son vida. Abrazos y te dejo un beso, que tengas un feliz día
That makes me feel sad
ReplyDeleteWe had the same storm in here too. Lots of damage.

ReplyDeleteIt is sad to see the trees down!
ReplyDeleteTake care, have a great day!
If a tree falls in the forest and there is no one there to see it does it remain standing?
ReplyDeleteGod bless.

ReplyDelete...wind can be a tree's worse enemy.
ReplyDeleteYikes. Glad it didn't fall on yours -- or anyone's -- house!
ReplyDeleteWow! Shallow root system! Cool shot, Bill!

With a combination of rain and wind trees sometimes do just fall over. You have documented this well.
ReplyDeleteNature takes its course...
ReplyDeleteWhat a shamel! So much lack they do to planetary health! Mild and nice days, dear friend. A hug.🌈
ReplyDeleteI'm always interested in the things that were buried beneath the roots...a kind of monument to times gone past when that tree first started its life.
ReplyDeleteSad to see this...
ReplyDeleteThat was a common sight here after Fiona blew through.
ReplyDeleteOh how sad. Trees are so important to us, it's sad to see one that has fallen.
ReplyDeleteYou've had some very nasty storms lately. I hope you stay safe.
ReplyDeletePoor tree! Good thing it didn't fall on someone's house. Blessings, Bill!
ReplyDeleteSad, looks so green still.
ReplyDeleteThe forces of nature
ReplyDeleteBoa tarde de terça-feira. Foto da natureza. Obrigado meu querido amigo Bill.
ReplyDeleteSad to see, Bill. The roots looked like they were quite shallow.
ReplyDeleteDa mucha pena. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteThe winds were pretty bad here too!
ReplyDeleteUnlike human beings it's part of nature. Nature will survive.
ReplyDeleteAlways sad to lose a tree.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't look like it had very many roots.
ReplyDeleteA sad stump.
ReplyDeleteEither the wind was very strong or the tree was very weak... or both.

Oh dear, poor tree. We have had a lot fall in the past few years, and it makes me sad.
ReplyDeleteOh my, another one bit the dust.
ReplyDeleteOuch, that was a big one!
ReplyDeleteAlways sad to see a tree down.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Wow.....maybe very old, but sad.
ReplyDeleteNature’s force is incredible! Hope everyone is safe. I just shared a blog post, let me know what you think.
