  2. A bit sunny here, too, but cold!
We have real wooden floors, thanks to the guys who lived here before, and the wood loves the wet clothes in winter.
We even have to add moisture. Come summer, other way round.
Let´s enjoy another sunny day, Bill!

  3. Same here Bill! Right before I visit your blogs I hanged my clothes under the sun and hopefully before the sun sets in two hours, it will be dry. very positive on it since the heat here is so fierce.

Stay safe brother Bill! On sunny days, don;t forget to keep hydrated.

  4. Clothes lines are very common around here, especially on Old Order Mennonite farms where there is no electricity and modern appliances are not used. Old fashioned technology - and it's free!

  9. When I was a kid it was a common thing to hang up the clothes outside. Now it is all done by machine.

    1. You have a machine that hangs the washing for you?

  12. Seeing laundry hanging out always reminds me of my youth. I used to help my mom hang up the clothes.

  13. Loved the last photo...taking my eye off into the distance then back again. This would make a great puzzle photo!

  14. Hello, the laundry dried outside does have a fresh scent. But, I love my dryer. Besides I have too many birds flying over, they would make a mess.
    Enjoy your day!

  15. Love to see clothes blowing in the breeze.
I hang my clothes out whenever I can. (Don't even own a clothes dryer)

  17. Not a common sight here these days. I loved when I was a kid and the clothes would freeze on the line in winter and become weird board-like things!

  24. Not many people do that here. It's kind of a shame.

  25. Wish I could! The steps down to the clothesline are just too scary for me. Ah to be young and sprightly again!

  26. Love to see washing blowing in the breeze Bill. There are only a handful of days a year that I can't hang my washing out to dry, which is a good thing as I don't own a clothes dryer 😉

  29. All during my childhood, my late mother would hang laundry on the line. On rainy days she would hang it in the basement. It was way more work than loading them into a dryer as we do now.
