Jackie Clarke (1927-2000) was a Ballina business man and a genius collector of Irish historical material.  In 2005 his widow, Mrs Anne Clarke, gifted his collection to Mayo County Council for the people of Ballina, Mayo and Ireland

  8. The only name I'm familiar with is Sir Roger Casement.... but we weren't taught much Irish history when I was growing up in England. I'd like to learn more. A long and terrible history!

  15. Interesting. I also collected a lot of murals in (London-)Derry and Belfast. I recognise the Proclamation of the Provisional Government of the Irish Pepublic to the People of Ireland.
