  3. Yes people do so here too, but the official dive at the beach was cancelled. Some people did so on their own in a canal in Amsterdam...

    Due to Covid, they changed the plunge here. Particpants could show themselves plunging anywhere they wanted, but caught on video. Before they plunged into the cold Chesapeake Bay. Take care, enjoy your day!

  16. When I lived in Chicago there was a group who jumped into Lake Michigan every day all winter long. On many days they had to chop a hole in the ice. Not everyone is sane.

  25. I'd love to be there to watch but I wouldn't be taking the plunge. I'm cold most of the year unless I'm outside in the summer.

  26. We have one of those plunges around here too, but it is February. Sometimes they have to use a chain saw to break through the ice first!! Too cold for me!!

  30. Bill - brrr, not me, either!!! Around here, they cut a hole in the ice of the lake, and jump in it to raise money for Special Olympics. Madness for a good cause!!! Happy New Year!
