I have come across piles of much worse on my walks!

I would expect them to come back for it. It does take a lot of time to cut it all in to strips.

When we were in Ireland we visited a place where we saw them cutting the peat. Hard work.
Wondering why it's so far away from the houses.
Peat harvesting is not done here.
Peat fascinates me. I toook any number of photos of it in Connemara when we were there, and was thrilled to stay in houses that burned it. Something so ancient and so homely about it.
