  1. Doesn't look like the liveliest or merriest fiddler I've ever seen. It reminds me that in the UK the quiet bar in a pub always used to be known as the "Snug" and was usually populated by old ladies drinking bottles of stout. These bars then became known as the Lounge and later still were usually knocked into one big bar. Nowadays of course they are mostly restaurants.

  3. The fiddler looks like he may have had one too many guinness stouts Bill 😀

  4. Such a comical looking fiddler but I'm sure the folks in the snug are all toe tapping when he plays!

  5. I like the mural, but I love the red wall.

  6. Funky fiddler! The Snug must be some kind of saloon or maybe you'd call it a pub?

  7. But...did you wander in for a pint? I agree with Grace. That fiddler looks like he sampled the Guinness a bit!

  8. Very nice mural, but I really love the facade of this place! The red and gold gives it an attractive, regal look!

  11. I've always liked the idea of a snug but I guess they are disappearing.

  12. Guinness must have more advertising than anything else in Ireland. "For the man at ease." And how, pray, might he get that way?

  13. Looks like a friendly place. I like the name!

  14. Snug is a term that hasn't made it across the pond regarding bars, which is a bit of a shame!

  15. Is it on a pub? I like it and I think you can listen to life music when you are in the building

  16. Snug.... is a new word for me.
My husband likes Guinness, and we visited the brewery in Dublin when we visited the city. Now, after following your blog..... I know Ireland is much more than Dublin :-)

  17. Now I want to find a snug and see what they're like. The ad did its job. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.

  18. The red wall matches the mural background. Snug reminds me of 'snuggles" worn by old ladies years and years ago.
