The Cope, or the Templecrone Agricultural Co-operative Society is a co-operative retail chain indigenous to The Rosses area of County Donegal in Ireland. Founded in 1906, it has a number of normal supermarkets as well as a full department store, a builders merchants and an agricultural division.

The name comes from the inability of one of the founder shareholders to say Co-Op - as he could pronounce Cope, the name The Cope was adopted.

Never heard of the group before so I looked it up and below is the info I found.  I guess there are lots of Elvis fans everywhere. :)

Elvis Donegal Club:  formed six years ago by a Dungloe woman following a visit to Graceland, the fan forum has exploded in popularity. Today it has over 400 members and has raised over €20,000 for various charities.  Info courtesy of Donegal News.

these were in someone's front garden.  They are sheltered being surrounded by all the greenery but it's getting colder and raining frequently so time will tell if these bloom full cycle.

construction

the old roof was taken off about two weeks ago and now they are starting to build a new one.  Tons of work on the building, it will take a very long time.  It was raining and windy for those workers all day yesterday.  

The Christmas lights were installed around town the other night.

a bus window shot  I took the last time I was on a bus back in Sept.  It looks like he is standing on top of the sign but he is actually on the side of the house.

Guinness Toucan

The Guinness toucan was developed for an advertising campaign by John Gilroy in the 1930s. ... the triskle heads

by Brendan McGloin.  Three heads carved in one block of Limestone set upon a sandstone column with a capping stone between, reading the names of the three masters in Gaelic. The figure represents the Fourth master, Michael Cleary , a monk whom though of the idea to cronical the history of Ireland and brought together the three other men to research and compile the Annals of the Four Masters.

Triskle Heads, 2002

The Triskle Heads are 2 meters x 5 meters in size, carved from a single block of granite and rests upon a plinth made up of four sandstone blocks which represent the annals and is located in front of the Bundoran Library, Bundoran, Co. Donegal.
