market day

a few people come down from Northern Ireland and place their items  by and on their cars on main street to sell.  People do stop and look but I don't know how successful the sellers are.  A windy or rainy day would cause some problems I would think.

  1. As long as they have Protestant shoes and Catholic shoes they might do okay!

  5. These days here you might get fined if you did something like that. It's astonishing the fees they charge for our local farmer's market. No wonder those prices they are selling it for are so expensive. A great look at the local commerce. Hopefully, there were customers.

  6. It looks like the yard sales and garage sales that people have around here. Take care, have a great day!

  7. Resultarían más vistosos, si no tuvieran los coches tan cerca.

  11. Our town would require a peddler's license to do that here.

  19. Impossible here in Germany (no surprise!).
Here only official flea-markets are allowed and they cost the sellers a fee, too.

  20. That's an awful lot of shoes to be selling from a car.

  21. I love yard sales and flea markets but have never seen a sale on a car on a main street. Would probably do good since there are people checking out the items as they're walking up and down the sidewalk.

  22. Kind of like a garage sale from your car. Here we will set things out in our driveways or yards and sell our things.

We have 'organised markets' in some of our towns where you have to pay for your pitch...

    All the best Jan

  26. I guess it is a good place as any to sell things.
Seems like so many of us are trying to get rid of things!

  27. Well that's a good way to have a garage sale where people walk by on the street.

  29. I suspect that would require a permit to do so. Very messy on the street.

  30. Interesting way to do business, it's like a garage sale but in the street.

  31. Interesting photos. Rainy and windy weather are certainly not friends with these outdoor sales.

  32. We do the same thing here, it can be very nice to visit these

  33. It's like car boot sales, I'd stop and have a look.
