  1. That Irish language looks very difficult to me.

  2. Sad such signs are needed - isn´t that just sensitive, logical thinking?
But, well. "Smart"phones make people rather dumb (I´m old...).

  3. A good warning, maybe you should also not walk with a mobile in your hand while crossing the traffic...

  4. Good advice. Seems like it should have also cautioned about using a phone while walking on the street.

  5. Hope you have more luck there with drivers and school buses letting off and picking up students. There have been a number of close calls lately!

  6. As a former bus driver I have seen a lot of dumb things. Some of them were fatal.

  7. I agree, I think a phone warning would be better.

  8. ...when I was in high school I rode a city bus to school and the bus ran over a pedestrian. I've never forgotten it. Thankfully things are a bit safer today. Thanks Bill for sharing.

  9. Signs everywhere, some of them make sense and some seem a bit over the top. But signs promoting safety around buses should never be ignored. Too many accidents and too many distracted drivers. I think driving is getting worse and worse.

  10. The phone warning will be the next sign they put up! ;-)

  11. I agree with the comments above. Better safe than sorry.

  12. I have an acquaintance that was hit just like that.

Here in California, when the school busses stop and flash their lights, all drivers on both sides of the road must stop until the lights are turned off (which can take some time). To violate is an $1000.00.

    Hi Bill 🍁🍂🍁

  19. Good advice. I would never walk in or around traffic while looking at my phone!

  22. Some of the same advice to be found in and around buses here, though the other language is French.

  23. It's too bad that there isn't a way a warning like that would come up automatically on phones when people are walking near traffic. It may be the only way to get their attention.

  24. Need more signs like that around here I think too many people busy looking at their phones instead of what's happening around them.

  25. That is a good idea from Kay!
In the meantime signs hopefully help …

    All the best Jan
