skywatch friday

A campaign has been launched to help renovate the tower and spire of a Church of Ireland church built in Donegal Town in 1828.  If you are interested you can read about it here.

  2. I hope they raise the necessary funds - otherwise a builder and a scaffolding erector are going to be severely out-of-pocket on the venture.

    Our old architecture is very important whether it is a church or a mansion or a stone cottage...even outbuildings! We should preserve the integrity of our past for the future.
    It is a lovely 19th century church~

  19. It's well worth restoring and it really restores my faith in humanity when I see and hear of people restoring buildings back into how they should be.

  20. It sounds as if its condition is pretty perilous and it's surprising they've been unable to get grant money to restore it.

  22. I hope the funds are raised. It would be a shame for it fall to far into disrepair to be saved. Shame that government isn't supporting it....yet, perhaps they will!
