the church in the background is St. Mary of the Visitation. During the warmer seasons this area is packed with ships. This is a fishing ship not a passenger one. The passenger ships dock way on the other side about a 15 minute walk from here. The building on the left is a storage and working area.

I love that sky and clouds ⛅️
ReplyDeleteNice new banner, Bill! Bet Ingo´d love to visit - I´m sadly not into fish...
ReplyDeleteMary of the Visitation - sounds like she’s dropping by for coffee!
ReplyDeleteComplicated piping on that ship, but it's a nice combination with that church, Bill. I can't tell whether I'm looking at the side or the back.
ReplyDeleteIt's the back.
DeleteI love the composition of this photo, Bill - the old and new juxtaposed. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteFresh caught fish and seafood are the best :-) Used to go to places like this to buy seafood from the fishermen.
ReplyDeleteHi Bill.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful photo.
Greetings from Patricia.
Love the church on the hill!
ReplyDeleteGood view and info.
ReplyDelete...Bill, this is a beautifully composed image.
ReplyDeleteVery nice view for this photo. I love the church and its design.
ReplyDeleteI love how the church looks down on the area. I bet the view from there is great.
ReplyDeleteGood shot Bill :-D
ReplyDeleteNow I wonder (being that kind of thinker) what the difference between a ship and a boat is...thinking of fishing boats usually, rather than ships!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great shot! So jam-packed with visual interest!
ReplyDeleteThe church looks so serene in the background, Bill.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful photo with the church in the background.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Foto maravilhosa, meu querido amigo Bill. A Igreja parece ser muito linda. Grande abraço do Brasil. Uma excelente tarde de sexta-feira.
ReplyDeleteGreat view and photo! Take care, enjoy your day and happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteÉ uma questão de rezar e depois zarpar. rsrsrsrs

ReplyDeleteLinda iglesia. , Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteI do like the composition of this photograph.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Praised be your photographic eye.
ReplyDeleteEven in the quieter seasons, the area carries the echoes of activity, and the details, the storage building, the walk to the passenger docks remind us of the rhythm of life by the water.
ReplyDeleteLooks a big fishing boat and the church is looking good with it's nice steeple.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot. I love the contrast of the peaceful old church against the busy working area with the ships.
ReplyDeleteLooks similar to the ones I've seen here at the port.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot.
