a visitor

I was riding in a car and a friend had to make a quick stop at a house to drop something off.  We were told that there was a bird around who loves to fly on to parked car mirrors and then check himself out in the mirror.  He flew by, landed and did exactly that.  It happened so fast that these are the only photos I got and they are blurry but you get the idea. :)
Photo taken a few years ago.

saturday critters

He's having a rough day.  I met him when I was heading to the beach.  It was just starting to rain and he just stood there staring at me.  Then I took his photo.

I said, see you later and  he growled. :)

healthwise

We had our booster shots here yesterday afternoon.  This place was very convenient because it was less than a five minute walk to get there from our home.

storm barra

hit us full force yesterday.  Gusty winds, power outages and some flooding.  We had a power outage for a few hours when the storm first arrived on Tuesday but no flooding.  It was supposed to be gone by Wed. but the forecast got updated and changed.  The winds have died down tonight and hopefully that will be it.  This is a photo I took through our window yesterday morning.  It was way to windy to be outside plus I didn't want to get blown away. :)

new sculpture

A new sculpture was unveiled in Gaoth Dobhair Sunday in honour of all young people who have passed away.
The powerful artwork – entitled Suaimhneas – is located in the garden to Páirc an Phobail (The Community Park) on Páirc Ghnó Ghaoth Dobhair (Gweedore Business Park).

It was created by the community in loving memory of children, teenagers and young adults who died in the vibrancy of their youth, through illness or tragedies.

Credit goes to renowned Donegal sculptor, John McCarron, for the design of the impactful memorial. It now sits in a public space where people are welcome to visit, pause and remember those who are gone before us, but live in our hearts and memories.
Info courtesy of the Donegal Daily website.
